2018 Schools Spectacular

07 Dec 2018

This year Tamworth High School had 17 students participate in the Schools Spectacular “The Greatest”. Our students were involved in the Combined Choir, the NSW Public Schools Dance Ensemble and the NSW Public Schools Aboriginal Dance Ensemble. Our week was exciting with trips into the city, navigating public transport, visiting Darling Harbour, eating gourmet food and making friendships. The real excitement was of course performing in the show.

NSW Public Schools Aboriginal Dance Ensemble

We had three students involved in this ensemble, organised by Mrs Erinn Scott. The item was tiltled “Knowing” based on the proverb – Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love… and then we return home. Kooriana Boney was selected to be in the “Elders” section, such an amazing opportunity for her last Schools Spectacular, whilst Savannah and Hollie Slomczewski were “Serpents”. All three girls performed beautifully and demonstrated such a conncection to the story and choreography.

NSW Public Schools Dance Ensemble

Keegan Baker, Kaylah Daly and Sarah Vermuelen featured in the State ensemble and were in the segment “The Greatest of Our World Culture”. Our students are in the Bollywood section and feature on the stage! Such a fantastic opportunity for regional rural students!

Combined Choir

Our choir students are 12 of the 2839 students in the Spectacular Choir. The choir featured in almost every segement of the spectacular with some items even having choreography “choralography” and fun props! Such an unreal experience.

All Students were an absolute credit to THS, keep an eye out on Channel 7 for airing times.
